Zen in a Nightclub is an experimental music project started by well traveled street performer Monti Karus. It promotes improvisation and free-form under the belief that through interpretation of energies present in the ether, we free-fall into the world of being led where our music should go. It normally starts with a loop track that is sent to the artist to improvise over, those improvisations are sent back as separate tracks, then once different elements are collected the tracks are mixed down and a 'song' is produced. The mission of Zen in a Nightclub is to unite people through improvisation using a wide array of musical forms and styles. It is not the just the auditory element that is incorporated in this media but also the visual element. Photography and artworks from an international spectrum have been gathered and fused to add depth to the tracks so a story can be placed behind each one.
